King Of Swords

The first in a series of stories set in the same future as the Sons of Amber, but earlier in the timeline. King of Swords takes place a generation or two before Ezekiel, when the ongoing Rim skirmishes with forces of the jit'suku empire make the civilian stations in the outlying areas of the Milky Way Galaxy dangerous places to live.

Main Characters:

David - a newly retired spec ops colonel, he's trying to adjust to civilian life, but it's difficult for a man who's spent most of his life in service.
Adele - psychic, Adele's life has been spent trying to come to terms with the odd flashes of the future she sometimes sees...and it's getting worse.
Della - Adele's beautiful, psychic aunt, Della has been drawn to Madhatter Station to deal cards and tell fortunes. When her niece shows up, she knows all is unfolding as she has foreseen, but worries over the outcome of sending her precious niece off with the King of Swords.
Alexander - owner of The Rabbit Hole, a bar that caters to ex-military like himself. He's David's one friend on the station, and Della's employer.
