Amazing Australian News!

Awesome news! I heard today from some friends Down Under that my book, Lords of the Were, had been named the winner of the ARR Favourite Erotic Romance eBook of 2008!

ARR stands for Australian Romance Readers and the award was given at their first annual convention in Melbourne. Back when the convention was first being discussed, a few of my Aussie friends tried to talk me into going. I would have loved to… but I just couldn’t.

I felt really bad about not being able to attend and as a result, I’ve been remiss in not getting a little more invovled in the proceedings. Totally my fault due to a combination of factors including: 1) not being able to be there in person, which made me blue, and 2) desperately needing organizational assistance. I’ve been saying for about a year now that I REALLY need an assistant. I can’t afford one, but I NEED one in a BIG way. LOL

But that’s neither here nor there. The bottom line is, I’m honored and humbled by the award and just thrilled to pieces too! That Snoopy up there happy dancing (if the image file works) is me!

Many thanks to everyone who voted for the book and to fellow Samhain author, Jess Dee, who accepted the award on my behalf. I can’t thank you all enough!

Awesome News!

Not only was I totally surprised by last night’s recognition as a Best Selling Author for 2008 on AllRomanceEbooks.com, but I also found out I’d won two awards from Rites of Romance Reviews! Thanks to all who voted and bought my books!

 

A Day Without Internet…

Actually, more like 2 days with no internet and I’m seriously behind!

First, let me thank ARe for the Best Selling Author of 2008 Award. I made it home just in time to attend the ceremony, held online at BlogTalkRadio and even with hardware issues (speakers fading in and out), I was able to hear most of the program. They did a great job announcing the books, authors and fans who won this year’s awards. Thank you to ARe and to all the readers out there who made this possible!

And let me apologize to those of you who might’ve made it into the chat room. Between the strangeness going on with my speakers and my loopiness from having just returned home fifteen minutes earlier from a 200 mile 3+ hour drive, I don’t think I was making much sense in the chat. I apologize! (And am mightily embarrassed!)

Special shout outs to all the other talented authors and to my publisher, Samhain, who won the Best Publisher of the year award. WTG!

Now, a quick recap of Sunday and Monday to bring you up to date…

Sunday was my day at NY ComicCon. I met Stella Price there and we walked over 7 miles on the exhibit floor! (I wore a pedometer, just out of curiosity.) We ran into a few celebrities and got a lot of books and freebies. Ate an overpriced lunch at the convention center ($4 for a small soda?!) bought stuff and generally had a good time. We even ran into author, Isabo Kelly in the final panel, but had to boogie out of there to catch our ride. Stella’s boy toy was kind enough to give me a lift to Penn Station, from which I took the train home.

I was home for about 15 minutes before heading right back out again, this time in my car, for a whirlwind trip to Pennsylvania and back. When I got there – surprise! – no internet. Wah! I went through the pains of withdrawal and suffered horribly. I arrived home about 9:15 pm, only to realize I was supposed to be at the ARe Awards in 15 minutes. Hence, my discombobulation at the actual event.

I have a ton of email to sort through, so if you’re waiting on a response from me, please understand and give me a little time to get back into the swing of things.

SAMMIE Awards

Just popping in to announce that my books did rather well yesterday at the SAMMIE Awards. It turns out Lords of the Were was the #9 Best Selling Book at Samhain for 2006. Hara’s Legacy was the #7 Best Seller for 2007 and the one that really tickles me is the Reader’s Choice mention for FireDrake. Thank you all!!!

1st Ever SAMMIE Awards!

Tomorrow on the Samhain Cafe Yahoo group, they’ll be announcing the new Sammie Awards. Since this is the first year, they’ll be awarding prizes for 2006-2008 best sellers. I’ve been told three of my books are Finalists, so you can bet I’ll be there with excerpts and maybe a prize or two! Here are the details:

FireDrake is #1 Top Reader Rated at ARe!

I just happened to wander over to AllRomanceeBooks.com and noticed that my book, FireDrake, is at the top of the Top 10 List of Reader Rated books. I’m just THRILLED!!! It was on the Top 10 Best Seller list soon after its release and now it’s climbed all the way to the top of the ratings list.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a book at the top of the ratings list, so this is a real milestone for me. Thank you to all who read and rated the book on ARe!
