Blogging Uphill

It’s been a rough road, so far, trying to get this new blog up and running. What’s even worse is that I’m hearing my old readers can’t find the new blog. And of course, with no way to post anything to the old Blogger location, it’s hard for me to redirect them.

I’ve also not been able to reconstruct my blogroll. I’ll be working on that over the next week or so, so if anyone wants to trade blog links, please email me at BIANCADARC AT GMAIL.COM with your link and how you want it listed. I’ll gladly trade with other authors, readers, and related topical blogs!

The blog contest is still ongoing - the low turn-out is what’s telling me people are having trouble finding my blog - so be sure to enter! Chances are very good, since so few have entered to this point.

More Website Graphical Madness

After a lot of trial and error (mostly error), I’ve changed the graphics on the paranormal section of my website to be more like the new graphics I installed a week or two ago on both the Dragon Knights section and the FutureWorlds section. Basically there’s less header (only 200 pixels tall) and more graphical links within the header to cut down on space usage at the tops of all the pages.

I tried 4 or 5 different designs for this and settled on the least objectionable one. I’m not entirely satisfied with it art-wise, but then, I never am. LOL. It’s good for now and if I manage to create some art that I like better, it’ll most likely be changing again. I’m funny that way.

The new header is a combination of two 3d renders I did recently. The left side is sort of vampy with a couple in a gothic cathedral-like setting, complete with dark stained glass windows. The right side is a girl holding a magical ball of light in her hand, surrounded by werecreatures in a forest. I wanted something that would work for all my paranormal tales so I could use one header throughout the section instead of the 5 different headers I had before. I think this works, for the most part, but I’d love to hear what you all think! Go on over and take a look at the new art, and let me know your opinion, okay?

I Could Cry

Yes, it’s true. Blogger ate my blog. A year or two of blogging is now lost. I’d decided to stick with Blogger a few months back when they did the upgrade because it allowed me more freedom to customize and I figured it was pretty safe to keep my blog there, considering spammers and storage issues, etc. Well, I guess I was wrong.

So I’m starting all over. Please bear with me while I learn how to work this WordPress thing. I’ll have to re-input all my customizations and figure out just how to do it, so chances are this blog will look a little ragged for a while until I figure out what I’m doing. (If there’s anyone out there who can offer advice on how to work WordPress features like how to save posts in advance of actually posting them, and how to add graphics into the sidebar, please let me know!)

In the meantime, hang tight. It’s bound to be a bit bumpy before I figure this all out, so please bear with me and thanks for your patience.

New Blog/Old Blog

This is the dividing line between new content and my old blog from Blogger. Blogger ate my blog and won’t let me import things in their entirety, so I’m going to be cutting/pasting what little I can from the last few weeks as best I can. I don’t know if this will work. I don’t know if the images will come through or if the do, if they’ll stay, since they’re still hosted on Blogger.

Unfortunately, I can’t transport over any of the comments since I’m doing this by hand. All in all, this is a big mess. Thanks for bearing with me while I figure it out.
