RT Convention Next Week
March 31, 2011 on 8:25 pm | In Appearances | 1 CommentNext week is the annual RT (Romantic Times) Booklovers Convention. This year it’s being held in Los Angeles and I’ll be there! I’ve never actually been to LA before, though I used to spend a lot of time in San Francisco and northern CA on business, back in the day. LA should be interesting and hopefully the weather will be a nice change from the cold that persists here in NY.
I hope to see some of you at the con. I’ll be doing a panel on Friday afternoon from 1:30-2:30 titled “Dare to be Different – and Still Get Published”. The description reads: “Unconventional plots deserve unconventional publishing. A frank discussion about what genres and topics are selling in the ebook world.” My fellow panelists are: Nathalie Gray, Belinda McBride, and Janet Miller (aka Cricket Starr). It’s going to be fun!
I hope, if any of you are planning to be there, you’ll come by and say hello. I love meeting readers, so please don’t be shy. I promise, I don’t bite (unlike some of my characters), and I’m very easy going. Being a native New Yorker means I’ll pretty much talk to anyone about anything. In fact, it’s one of my favorite pastimes, so getting me to shut up is the real challenge.
I’ll also have some goodies you can pick up on promo alley. I spent a small fortune this year on these cute little bandaid holders. They’re little vinyl things you can throw in your purse or car or wherever, and they contain 5 bandaids. I figured if the werewolves come after you, it’s best to be prepared! LOL
Hope to see some of you there!!!
Mass Market News

I got a surprise in the mail yesterday – a very pleasant surprise! I got a package of cover flats that were not in the trade paperback size I am used to, but rather, they were in mass market size. It was a new edition of the Halloween anthology that came out last year in trade paperback size that featured three stories: one by Erin McCarthy, one of mine and one by Jennifer Lyons. The title – THE BEAST WITHIN – is the same, as is the artwork. Everything’s the same except for the size and, of course, the price.
The original trade paperback sold for around $15, I think. This one has a cover price of $6.99. Yippee!
I suppose the distribution of this book will be greater than that of it’s previous incarnation, which is something I eagerly anticipate. It’s all part of my ingenious plan for world domination! Mwahahaha!
Sorry. I got carried away for a minute there. I know this probably isn’t a big deal to most other authors, but to me, it’s a huge, big, awesome deal. I’ve never had a book in mass market size before. And I had no idea they were planning to put this one out in mass market. Nobody told me! LOL. So it was a huge surprise to see that stack of cover flats. I felt like breaking out in a happy dance, right there in my kitchen.
The book will be out in September of this year. Yay!
