I-Con This Weekend!

Join me at I-Con! Starting tonight and going all weekend, I’ll be haunting the halls of Stony Brook University for the annual madness that is I-Con. This will be my first year going as a guest and I’m very excited! Here are the details:

April 4-6, 2008

I-Con Sci Fi Con - Stony Brook, NY

I’m actually acting as “escort” for Charlaine Harris for most of the weekend, so I’m looking forward to meeting her and showing her around the campus. It’s a pretty huge place, so they like to give the GoH’s folks who know where they’re going. ;-) Now let’s just hope I don’t get lost! LOL

If you’re on or near Long Island, come out and see the phenomenon that is I-Con. There’s all kinds of things going on at this con - a very cool science track, celebreties, writers galore, gaming, and a lot of neat fighting demos out on the lawn in front of the sports complex. They usually get the local SCA-types to show up in armor and beat on each other for the mundanes’ amusement. ;-)

I’ll be on a few panels throughout the weekend, as well as signing books on Sunday, so if you’re there, look me up! :)

As promised, here’s a quick look at some bookmark designs I’ve done recently for both Hara’s Legacy and Davin’s Quest. What do you think?

Yeah, I know I should be writing. *sigh* But there’s SO much to do to prepare for not only RT, but also I-Con this weekend.

I’ve been working pretty much non-stop on materials for the presentation I’ll be doing (which I didn’t know I’d be doing until a few weeks ago, when my friend asked me to fill in for her). I’ve been devising new promo materials (a few of which I’ll post images of so you can see what I’ve been up to) and figuring out my schedule, which is growing increasingly complex.

During all this, I’ve been working through edits on my May releases. Luckily, the FireDrake edits have been relatively easy, which is nice. I’ve also been working on my first Tease novella, Perfect (see yesterday’s post for a look at the gorgeous new cover).

So I haven’t been doing a heck of a lot of writing. Just a little here and there. I’ve managed to write a bit every other day or so, which is okay, considering everything else that’s been going on, but I should follow Michael’s advice and start writing a bit more. Will do, Mike! ;-)

New Cover - Perfect

That awesome artist and author, Stella Price, has just created a lovely cover for my very first story with Tease Publishing. Check it out:

The book will be out on May 15th from Tease. Here’s a little bit about it:

A city girl meets a country boy. She’s “gone country” and he’s just the man to teach her to ride…

A city girl at heart, successful business woman and former bakery owner, Cassandra, has sold out and moved West to her own slice of heaven – a working ranch, complete with cowboys. She doesn’t know much about ranch life, but she’s a willing student, especially when the new ranch hand catches her eye.

Cody compliments her cooking and charms his way into her life, but he’s keeping secrets, and she doesn’t know if she can trust her instincts where he’s concerned. She’s going to have to make a decision, but should she take the risk?
